Reviews and Ratings
The hotel rooms showed signs of modernization with the price increase, but the noisy traffic and view of a run-down area outside the window were disappointing. The service, despite lacking professionalism, had some friendly and well-trained staff. The location, although terrible, offered a top-notch experience thanks to attentive staff. The dining experience was a mix of great buffet options and long waiting times. The facilities were decent, though with room for improvement.
I had a mix of experiences at the hotel. The rooms, although small and overpriced, were modern and offered stunning views of the falls. The advertised spa facilities were missing, but the beds were unbelievably comfortable. The location next to the lake was ideal for walks, though the chilly lounge was a downside. The service was exceptional, especially thanks to the attentive and friendly staff, making us feel truly looked after. Dining had its highs and lows, with a good buffet selection but let down by service quality. However, the hotel lacked some expected facilities, and some areas experienced long waits for service.
The hotel had a lovely location right by Derwent Water and the spa gardens. The rooms needed a refresh and could get quite hot without air conditioning, but the view made up for it. The service was top-notch with intelligent and helpful advice, especially from ROY. The dining experience was a bit of a letdown due to a mouse problem in the bar area. The location was perfect for walks and the proximity to Keswick was a bonus.
